Consult the market fit of a new product or service with a product expert

When launching a startup or developing a new product (i.e., a pivot), it is crucial to validate market fit. Consulting with a product development expert with experience in both Asia and Europe can help determine whether your initial scope of work is financially viable. This approach saves both time and money while allowing you to test the product with target respondents before its market launch.

Reducing the Complexity of an MVP

Validation of MVP Scope

The first product (Minimum Viable Product) of a newly emerging company involves both time and financial investment, which we help validate.

We reduce the risk of market fit failure by testing hypotheses related to the product. At the same time, we assess whether the set of features the product offers is truly minimal or if something essential is missing.

Company Pivot into a New Industry

The entry of an established company into a new market or the launch of a new product is often subject to a "major" internal debate, which usually increases the total number of features that need to be implemented to satisfy all parties involved.

We reduce the risk of market fit failure by testing the hypotheses held by various internal stakeholders, thereby enhancing the quality of the internal debate and the product.

Why is it worth investing in product validation?

The fundamental principle of business under Czech law is that it is an activity aimed at generating profit. This is no different in the U.S. and very similar in China. One of the biggest costs for companies is often employees, who must develop a new product. If a product is overengineered in terms of features, its development takes longer, making it more expensive and riskier in terms of market acceptance. It is common for a product to be clearly high-risk, yet development continues instead of recognizing losses (Sunken Cost Fallacy).

A Real-World Example:

A startup—A Czech company with two engineers, one CEO, and a designer—spends at least 112,000 CZK per month on salaries. Developing a smaller Minimum Viable Product (MVP) typically takes 3-5 months, resulting in a total salary cost of approximately 448,000 CZK for one product (assuming a motivated team). The outcome is a functional product prototype waiting for its first hundreds of customers.

How can this process be faster and cheaper?

Method 1: Brutal Market Validation!

Test the product hypothesis before development starts using in-depth interviews, which cost around 15,000–50,000 CZK, depending on complexity. The product can also be "developed" through a fake landing page, marketing flyers, or similar tools. For example, WIX costs $17 per month, allowing for the creation of a test landing page. This method can often be executed by just one or two people.

If there is uncertainty about the product idea, the key question is: What are the real chances of success? Instead of risking 448,000 CZK on development, that same amount could test multiple ideas, helping to define a lean MVP that has a proven market fit before full development begins.

Method 2: Identify Known Problems with Clear Solutions

Work with an expert to pinpoint known issues that already have obvious solutions. The goal is to skip unnecessary design work (resulting in shorter development times and quicker market validation). Leave development entirely to developers without unnecessary internal debates. Early expert consultations often reduce the number of features and complexity, lowering final costs and shortening delivery times.

The Same Applies to Established Companies Pivoting or Launching New Products

The longer an internal debate drags on over which features to include—often based on subjective opinions—the more expensive and time-consuming the product becomes, increasing the risk of failure. The same validation methods outlined above can help mitigate this risk.

However, it’s important to acknowledge that no approach eliminates all risks. The key is to actively manage and minimize them.
